About my practice

I am a clinical psychologist, with a Ph.D. from Columbia University.

I am licensed in New York and New Jersey.

I am devoted to helping my clients find new ways of understanding and adapting to their current challenges.

I have four decades of experience as a psychotherapist. Prior to 2008, I worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a number of outpatient and inpatient settings. Since 2008, my focus has been on providing individual psychotherapy for adults.

My goal is to provide clients with caring, thoughtful, and effective help. I view providing psychotherapy as a profound responsibility and a very worthwhile endeavor.

My approach to therapy

I strive to maintain a balance between clients' discussing what is most important to them and my responses to what they communicate. My responses are informed by four decades of clinical experience and training.
It's fair to ask about how therapy can be helpful. My clients have benefitted from receiving emotional support, developing an enhanced awareness and understanding of the impact of specific relationships and life events have had on them, as well as developing a better understanding of useful psychological principles and coping mechanisms.

My current therapeutic approach is eclectic, integrating both psychodynamic and cognitive theories.
I welcome your questions about working with me.

Professional Training

In addition to earning a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, I have completed the following postgraduate training programs:

  • Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program, The Institute for Psychoanalytic Education at NYU School of Medicine

  • NY Milton H. Erikson Society for Psychotherapy and Hypnosis

  • Relational Theory in Clinical Practice & Advanced Clinical Seminar, The Stephen Mitchell Center for Relational Psychotherapy
