Background and Experience
I currently work with adults in individual psychotherapy. I have been in private practice for the past 18 years. .
Approach to treatment
My clinical work is informed by a broad scope of theoretical orientations--psychodynamic, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral. My goal is to provide clients with caring, thoughtful and effective help. Each treatment is individualized, with careful attention devoted to each clients needs and goals.
Clinical Experience
For the first 28 years of my career, I worked in a number of outpatient clinics and inpatient psychiatric units in New York City, with child, adolescent and adult clients, from many different cultural and economic backgrounds. This extensive past professional experience has given my work a depth and breadth that has helped me to better understand and work with my patients.
Past Training
In addition to earning a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, I have also completed five additional years of postgraduate training, at The Institute for Psychoanalytic Education (at NYU School of Medicine), the Stephen Mitchell Relational Study Center, and the New York Milton H. Erickson Society for Psychotherapy and Hypnosis.
