Background and Experience
I have been a psychologist for 35 years. I appreciate and cherish my work in this field, because it is a privilege to be able to help the clients with whom I work.
Approach to psychotherapy
I view providing psychotherapy as a profound responsibility. My goal is to provide clients with caring, thoughtful and effective help. Sessions are interactive, with a balance between client and therapist input.
Clinical Experience
I have been in private practice with individual adults for the past 18 years. Before that, for 25 years, I worked in six outpatient clinics with children, adolescent, and adult clients, and on two inpatient psychiatric units with adults.
Training
In addition to earning a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, I have also completed five additional years of postgraduate training, at The Institute for Psychoanalytic Education (at NYU School of Medicine), the Stephen Mitchell Relational Study Center, and the New York Milton H. Erickson Society for Psychotherapy and Hypnosis.
