About my practice
I am a clinical psychologist, with a Ph.D. from Columbia University. I am licensed in
New York and New Jersey.
I am devoted to helping my clients find new ways of understanding and adapting to their current challenges.
I have four decades of experience as a psychotherapist. During the first phase of my career, I worked in six outpatient clinics and two inpatient hospitals. My clients were adults, adolescents and children from a broad range of social, cultural, and economic situations. Since 2008, my focus has been on providing individual psychotherapy for adults.
I view providing psychotherapy as a profound responsibility. My goal is to provide clients with caring, thoughtful and effective help.

My approach to therapy
As a therapist, I am interactive. I strive to provide a balance between helping clients
to discover their own perceptions and preferences and providing my own input.
I begin my work with clients by developing a thorough understanding of each
person's unique situation and social context. In this initial phase of treatment,
I conduct a thorough review of each client's unique history with regard to
interpersonal, familial, cultural, career, and economic factors.
The primary focus then shifts to consideration of each client's current situation.
The goal here is to understand and develop new ways to think
about and adapt to current challenges.
My current therapeutic approach is eclectic, integrating both
psychodynamic and cognitive theories.
